How to wrap and protect medical wiring harnesses

The important purpose of wrapping the wire harness is to play the role of wear resistance, high temperature resistance, flame retardancy, corrosion resistance, interference prevention, noise reduction, and beautification of appearance. Not only Medical Wire harnesses need wrapping protection, but other wire harnesses also need it.

1: Corrugated tube: The main feature is good wear resistance, high temperature resistance, flame retardancy, and heat resistance in high temperature areas. Usually the temperature resistance of the corrugated tube is between -40-150℃. Its materials are divided into PP and PA. PA material is better than PP material in flame retardancy and wear resistance; but PP material is stronger than PA material in bending fatigue resistance. Usually it is open and the wire harness can be directly plugged in.

2: PVC pipe: Its function is similar to that of the corrugated pipe. It is mainly used for the branch of the wire harness bend to make the wire transition smoothly. This is because the PVC pipe has good softness and resistance to bending deformation, and the PVC pipe is generally closed. The heat resistance temperature of the PVC pipe is not high, generally below 80℃.

3: Tape: Its function is to bundle, resist wear, insulate, flame retardant, reduce noise, and mark the wire harness. There are generally three types of tapes for wire harnesses: PVC tape, air velvet tape, and cloth-based tape. PVC tape has good wear resistance and flame retardancy; its temperature resistance is around 80°C, its noise reduction is poor, and its price is relatively cheap. The materials of velvet tape and cloth-based tape are PET. Flannel tape has the best binding and noise reduction properties, and its temperature resistance is around 105°C; cloth-based tape has the best wear resistance, and its highest temperature resistance is around 150°C. The common disadvantages of velvet tape and cloth-based tape are poor flame retardancy and high price.
